Refund & Cancellation Policy
For digital guides sold by Internet Business SA
Last updated: 24 September 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains your cancellation and refund rights when you buy a digital PDF guide from Internet Business SA, a trading name of Online Synergy CC, including The Complete Guide to Becoming a Well Paid Owner-Driver for Courier Companies. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, which cover the sale more broadly.
2. Delivery
Because this is a digital product, delivery is instant. Once Ozow confirms your payment, you'll get a download link on the order confirmation page and by email. If you don't receive it within a few minutes of a successful payment, check your spam folder first, then contact us using the details in section 6. This is treated as a delivery fault, not a change of mind, and it's covered under section 5 below.
3. Your Cancellation Rights Under the ECT Act
Section 44 of the ECT Act ordinarily gives consumers a 7-day cooling-off period to cancel an electronic transaction without reason or penalty. Section 42(1)(g) of the same Act excludes computer software that has been "unsealed" by the consumer from that cooling-off right.
Because a PDF guide is downloaded rather than shipped in sealed packaging, whether that exclusion applies to a purchase like this hasn't been directly tested in South African courts. Rather than take a hard line either way, here's how we handle it in practice:
Before you download: if you complete payment but haven't yet opened your download link, contact us within 24 hours and we'll cancel the order and refund you in full, no questions asked.
After you download: once you've accessed the file, we treat the product as delivered and "unsealed" in the same sense as software or a digital recording, and we don't offer a change-of-mind refund from that point. That's consistent with the section 42(1)(g) exclusion. This doesn't affect the fault-based rights in section 5 below, which apply regardless of whether you've downloaded the file.
When you complete your purchase, you'll be asked to confirm you understand delivery is immediate and that this affects your cancellation rights as described above. This isn't a waiver of your legal rights. It's there so you're making an informed choice, in the spirit of what section 43 of the ECT Act requires us to disclose to you before you buy.
4. How to Request a Cancellation
Contact us using the details in section 6, with your order number and the email address you used to pay. If your request qualifies under section 3 above, we'll process the refund back to your original payment method through Ozow, normally within 30 days as required by section 44(3) of the ECT Act.
5. Faulty or Undelivered Products
Separately from the change-of-mind position above, you're entitled to a replacement or refund if:
- Payment was taken but the guide was never delivered to you, and our support team can't resolve it
- The file you received is genuinely corrupted, incomplete, or won't open
- You were charged more than once for the same order due to a technical error
Contact us with your order details and we'll fix it, either by resending a working file or refunding the payment, at our discretion, normally within 30 days.
6. How to Request an Eligible Refund
If your order falls within the 7-calendar-day window and you meet our cancellation criteria, please submit a formal application to our billing team by visiting our contact page or by emailing your original order receipt details directly to [email protected]
Please include the following
- Full Name & Registered Purchase Email
- Unique Ozow reference number for validation.
- Reason for Return Request
